ASTM A213 T22, also known as ASME SA213 T22, is a low-alloy seamless steel pipe with 1.90–2.60% chromium and 0.87–1.13% molybdenum as the main alloying elements, commonly used in boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers in high-temperature, high-pressure environments.

T22 steel pipes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be either hot finished or cold finished, as specified.
All T22 steel pipes shall be reheated for heat treatment, which must be carried out separately and in addition to the heating for hot forming.
The permitted heat treatment methods are full or isothermal annealing, or normalize and temper.

An analysis of either one billet or one tube shall be made from each heat. The chemical composition thus determined shall conform to the requirements specified.

Moreover, the mechanical properties of ASTM A213 T22 are the same as those of T2, T5, T5c, T11, T17, and T21.
ASTM A213 T22 tubing sizes and wall thicknesses are usually furnished with inside diameters ranging from 3.2 mm to outside diameters of 127 mm, and minimum wall thicknesses from 0.4 mm to 12.7 mm.
Of course, if your project requires other sizes, that is also allowed, as long as all other applicable requirements in ASTM A213 are met.
