The tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be cold drawn.

Tubes shall be heat treated after the final cold drawn pass at a temperature of 1200°F or higher.

Appearance for ASTM A179/SA179
A sufficient number of visual surface imperfections to provide seasonable assurance that they have been properly evaluated with respect to depth. The defect shall be removed or cut off within the limits of requirements on length. The finished pipe shall be reasonably straight.
Packing for ASTM A179/SA179
a. Bare pipe or oil coating ( customized), if pickling or shot blasting or both, shall be specifically stated in the order;
b. In bundles with two cotton slings;
c. Both ends with end protectors;
d. Plain end, bevel end
